A revealing new Prime Video football documentary has made fans declare that they're 'winning on and off the pitch'.

There's been a rise in the amount of football documentaries premiering over the past few years, with Netflix arguably kicking off the trend.

While some attempts at capturing the magic of the beautiful game in the past have fallen short prior to its release, Sunderland 'Til I Die was a smash hit.

Releasing three seasons between 2018 and 2024, the Netflix documentary chronicles the team's financial struggles after they were relegated to the Championship.

The most successful of these kinds of documentaries is undoubtedly Disney+'s Welcome to Wrexham, which chronicles Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's purchase of the Welsh club.

Showcasing their journey from non-league football to the Championship, the series has featured a number of Ryan and Ron's Hollywood friends in cameos.

Prime Video are no strangers to football documentaries, with their All or Nothing series spending one season at a number of clubs across Europe.

Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Juventus have all been seen in the show which became a big hit in the world of American football.

Rather than focusing on Europe's elite sides, Amazon Prime is putting the spotlight on Birmingham City, who haven't been in the Premier League since 2011.

Titled Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues the five-episode documentary tells the tale of the 150-year-old football club whose new minority owner, NFL legend Tom Brady, is determined to transform them into a world-class team.

Teasing what to expect, Prime's synopsis says: "Beyond the day-to-day football operations, the series explores the unique cultural heritage of Birmingham City and its loyal supporter base."

Serving as an Executive Producer on the series is none other than Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight, who hails from Birmingham.

Over on X, previously known as Twitter, Birmingham fans had their say on why they're so excited to binge the programme.

@JoeBCFC24 said: "Can't wait for this, looks like a cracker." @RCropper_ added: "Up the goat Tommy Brady."

@Olibcfc wrote: "Blues is a story book you can never put down. Simple as that. Complete roller coaster ride." @isamutlib noted: "This is huge for profiling the region too. Much needed. The economic left will be big and I say that as a beneficiary."

Praising manager Chris Davies, @simbadazman commented: "On and off the pitch a class act. Will go right to the very top CD." @Liam817253 stated: "What a gaffer more importantly what a man."
