Star Indian shuttler Lakshya Sen succumbed to a defeat at the hands of Alwi Farhan in the semifinal of the men's singles event at the Macau Open Super 300 Badminton tournament on Saturday.
The 23-year-old Sen was handed a 21-16, 21-9 defeat in straight games in his final-four encounter against Indonesian Farhan.

Farhan got the fixture underway on a positive note as he zoomed to the lead early on in the opener and never let his stranglehold of the game slip as he coasted to a 21-16 win in the first set against the Indian.

Earlier in the day, Tharun Mannepalli went down to Justin Hoh in the other semifinal of the event as the Indian surrendered an early lead to fall to a 21-19, 16-21, 16-21 defeat against the Malaysian in the final-four of the event.
