Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Barrister Lloyd Ikechukwu Ekweremadu, has announced the kick off of U-15 Youth sports holidays programmes.
In a statement released by the Director of Information in the Ministry, Mr Dan Onwuegbuna, the sports programme, will commence in the six education zones in the state, namely Enugu, Agbani, Awgu, Udi Nsukka and Udenu in collaboration with the Post Primary Schools Management Board (PPSMB).
The games, according to Ekweremadu, will feature Athletics, boxing, Judo, Wrestling, Chess, as well as Para-athletics,Taekwondo, Tennis ,Table Tennis, Badminton, Karate.
Also to feature in the games are football, Volleyball, basketball traditional-sports and Squash.
He said the programme was designed to help the state select the best athletes that will represent the state in the forthcoming, U-15 National Youth Games, billed to hold in Asaba, Delta state, from 26th August- 6th September 2025.
