Darts star Luke Littler has taken aim on Manchester United's summer transfer business - and called on them to recruit a former Aston Villa star.

The Warrington-born reigning world darts champion is a huge United fan, but also takes a break from his time on the oche to be appreciative of players with other Premier League clubs.

As such, Luke "The Nuke" reckons United should be making a move for Villa old boy Douglas Luiz, who is surplus to requirements with Juventus after just one season in Italy.

The Brazilian left Villa Park for Juventus last summer but has struggled there, only featuring 27 times in all competitions. And that has come as a surprise after he played 175 league games for the Villans between 2019 and 2024 after arriving from Manchester City.

With the 27-year-old's future up in the air, Littler has called on the powers that be at United to sign Luiz.

In an interview with talkSPORT Darts, the 18-year-old said: "I'd go straight in for Douglas Luiz at Juventus. They're letting him go. He can hold, he can play further up, no-brainer."

Ruben Amorim is having a busy summer transfer window. He has already invested heavily to bring in Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo and Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, plus teen left-back Diego Leon from Paraguay, with more deals on the way as the Red Devils boss hopes to make amends for a dreadful 2024/25 campaign. Transfermarkt value Luiz at £30 million.
