"Plenty of character left in the building. Serving their own fantastic arrangement of beers across the bar. Mild, dark, copper, red, golden, amber beers; the best traditional range you can expect anywhere.

"We were lucky to be in the area when we visited back in April. Will certainly return."
A second added: "Traditional pub outside seating, toilets clean, not many tables inside main area, tap room darts, excellent choices of real ale, usual snacks available, locals and staff all pleasant. No jukeboxes, no stupid gambling machines, hooray."
A third explained: "Good old-fashioned pub. Only small, but friendly and quiet.

"No TV or noisy gambling machines. Serves real ale from their own brewery. Love this place."
A fourth said: "Good traditional street corner boozer away from the town centre. It's owned by bank top brewery so serves extensive range of the local breweries ales. I'm not sure how many are revolving guests but if bank top brew it they surely sell it. I had a pavilion pale and a flat cap, both very nice.
"Has a bar room and a back room (with dart board)also has an extensive sheltered and heated patio area."
