A total of 10 Abbotsford Rugby Football Club athletes will be at Shawnigan Lake School camps

It's been announced that a handful of Abbotsford athletes have the right stuff(ing) to participate in this year's Build a Bear U15 boys and girls training camps hosted by BC Rugby.

The rosters of the teen athletes getting the chance to participate in this program were recently released, including a total of 10 rising stars from the Abbotsford Rugby Football Club.

"The camps will see athletes work with several high-profile coaches to develop positional and individual skillsets, as well as game understanding for XVs rugby," BC Rugby said.

Taking place at Shawnigan Lake School from July 27 to Aug. 1, these camps will include more than 80 teen athletes and 11 coaches from all across the province.

Included among the rosters are the following Abbotsford players:

* Cameron Jones, U15 boys

* Chayton Nadeau, U15 boys

* Matthew Akhtar, U15 boys

* Parker James Ayriss, U15 boys

* Ashlyn Hunter, U15 girls

* Brooklyn Cybuliak, U15 girls

* Ireland McDowell, U15 girls

* Ivory Rozell, U15 girls

* Kaitlyn Dalgleish, U15 girls

* Kaydence Dietz, U15 girls

All participants in this camp will receive two jerseys designed by fellow B.C. rugby athletes as part of the Girls Can Rugby campaign.

Being a part of the training camp program is the first step to becoming a potential future BC Bear, with the organization offering teams ranging from teens to senior men and women in both 7s and XVs rugby.
