GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) are teaming up to honor high school football officials across Wisconsin during the 2025 season. This initiative is part of a National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and NFL program.
Each month, from September to November, a "Crew of the Month" will be recognized. WIAA will evaluate nominations for referee, umpire, head linesperson, line judge, and back judge roles based on fairness and commitment.
At the season's end, the best officials named as Crew of the Month will form Wisconsin's "Crew of the Year." These honorees will compete nationally for the NFHS and NFL's national Crew of the Year title.
"We're proud to recognize the hard work and commitment of Wisconsin high school football officials through this partnership with the WIAA, NFL and NFHS," said Packers football outreach manager Ryan Fencl.
Monthly honorees will be featured on Packers and NFL Play Football digital and social media platforms.
"We are excited for this partnership with the Packers," said WIAA Assistant Director Chad Schultz. "Officials play a vital role in education-based athletics."
Through this program, officials' contributions to football and their communities will be highlighted.
