The Terras suffered a 2-0 defeat to Boro as the Bob Lucas faithful watched back-to-back home defeats following Saturday's loss to Gloucester City.
Ethan Lee Taylor's second minute strike capitalised on a misjudged Oakley Hanger header which provided the Boro striker space to run into before lofting the ball over the onrushing Ben Clark from just outside the box.
Weymouth grew into the game after an initial opening 20 minutes that saw Boro dominate the ball before an improved second half in which the Terras huffed and puffed, but a lack of quality in the final third proved costly.
Rafael Ramos compounded the home side's misery when he sumptuously volleyed home in added time to wrap up the points.
Claridge could not fault his players effort but was left wondering if the team has enough quality to find the net and win games.
Speaking to the Echo after the game, he said: "We don't possess a cutting edge. We took 15 minutes to get the game sorted and with Oakley at centre back it wasn't ideal.
"We don't possess the players or squad we'd like, I get that, so that is where we are.
"I think it's disappointment more than despondent (the mood in the dressing room). We are disappointed we didn't get something from a game we should have.
He added: "We deserved to get something from the game, the players worked incredibly hard but with all due respect we've probably contributed to our defeat more than anything by how we applied ourselves in the game and by giving away an early goal.
"All of a sudden in our mind we have got to get tww (goals) to win a game of football and for the players we have it's very difficult."
Claridge added that the the early goal had impacted the confidence of the team and that the team cannot afford to concede first if they hope to pick up points.
He added: "It did knock them (the early goal) and you could see that but they recovered and kept going and I thought on the whole we deserved something from the game.
"Did we had enough quality to win it or not? You are asking people to believe they can get two goals and I am not sure they do.
"So, it's important we don't concede first and don't have to chase games because with all due respect what do we change to make it better. That's my question to any body, what do we change to make it better?"
