Annual Classic and Motorsport Show returning to Cumbria in August

WIGTON Motor Club are preparing to host their popular show this August.

The Cumbria Classic and Motorsport Show is part of the Cumbria Classic Weekend, which is the biggest motoring event in the region.

It is being held at Dalemain near Penrith on the A593 on Sunday, August 17.

By June, the number of entries for the show reached the capacity of 800, split between club and individual entries.

This year's guest of honour is Malcolm Wilson OBE, a leading figure in British motor sport.

He will be reunited with his first rally car, a Ford Escort RS, which has been restored by Neil Kirkham.

(Image: Wigton Motor Sport) The event will also feature rally and Italian cars and promises a packed schedule with autotests, arena displays and interviews with personalities.

Rallying journalist John Fife, will be selling his series of books on the history of rallying in Scotland.

This year, the club is supporting Hospice at Home North Lakes and Every Life Matters.

The Show opens to the public at 11 am and closes at 4 pm. Admission costs £20 for an adult, and well-behaved dogs and children are free.

There will also be a free-to-join treasure hunt for children.

Wigton Motor Club have an exclusive offer on membership. If you join at the Show, you get membership until December 2026.

The club is the largest car club in the region with over a thousand members, and promotes a wide range of motorsport and classic car events.
