Opel recently announced that the Mokka GSE, inspired by the Mokka GSE Rally prototype, will be a production vehicle. Opel is now showing the first images. The new Mokka GSE will be nothing less than the fastest battery-electric Opel - wrapped in a unique GSE and rally design and equipped with specific technology, it brings motorsport energy to the road. The new Opel Mokka GSE makes a statement above all with its strong performance. With a peak output of 207 kW (280 hp), the production electric car will be just as powerful as its motorsport counterpart, the Mokka GSE Rally. And with an immediate torque of 345 Newton meters, it is just as uncompromising. The Mokka GSE accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds - and with a top speed of 200 km/h, it will soon be the fastest all-electric Opel. Mokka GSE drivers can choose from three different driving modes: In Sport mode, the electric car is tuned for performance and delivers its full power; in Normal mode, it reaches speeds of up to 180 km/h, and in "Eco" mode, all settings are calibrated for maximum efficiency. The Mokka GSE stores its energy in a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery.
Its unladen weight of less than 1.6 tons and its sophisticated technology, which was also inspired by the rally prototype, also contribute to its exceptional performance. The Mokka GSE features front-wheel drive with a Torsen multi-disk limited-slip differential, a chassis with specifically designed axles, and new double hydraulic shock absorbers. All high-voltage components of the production Mokka GSE, such as the motor, inverter, battery, and wiring harness, come from the Mokka GSE Rally. The steering system, suspension, and brakes have also been specially tuned for sporty performance and optimized using Opel's experience in electric rally racing. Opel will announce further news about the first appearance and market launch of the new Opel Mokka GSE shortly.
