The 3rd Baltic International Flower Bed Festival concluded this week in Tallinn, where the most beautiful flower beds in the Baltic capitals were revealed. In Rīga, the Symphonic Music Bed in Opera Square triumphed, according to the competition initiator Rīgas Meži Ltd.

For the third year, residents and visitors of Riga could vote for their favourite flower bed. This year, the "favourite" prize was awarded to the Choral Garden in Uzvaras Park.

According to the organisers of the competition, the international jury highly praised the concept of the flower beds of "Rīgas meži", which this year is dedicated to the XIII Latvian School Youth Song and Dance Festival.

"Vilniaus miesto parkai", the planners and managers of Vilnius Gardens and Parks, nominated six perennial beds for the competition. This year, both the jury and the citizens voted the spectacular rose bed in front of the Vilnius Opera and Ballet Theatre as the best.

In Tallinn, the jury and the citizens were also unanimous: the flower planting in front of the MOMU Motorsports Museum was voted the most beautiful. It is shaped like a motor track, telling special stories about famous Estonian motorsport riders and their mothers.

The 3rd Baltic International Flower Bed Festival took place from 29 to 31 July in Vilnius, Rīga and Tallinn. During this time, a jury of plant management companies from the capitals visited each other's planting, design, maintenance and judging in each city.

Although the festival is over, residents are still invited to enjoy the beauty of Rīga's flowering plants and, when travelling around the Baltic States, to pay attention to the magnificent flower beds of Tallinn and Vilnius, Rīgas Meži stressed.
